The song has a unique tone to it. The aduitory art that happened when I heard this song was amazing. One really feels there. One can feel something when they listen to it. It explains so much in such a short piece. The music is very mudane, but yet powerful to one's mind. It expressions so much that had happen in prisons in the segregated south. There are many more songs than this one, but I think this song has a real feel.
It’s a pretty interesting song. I’m not one for music like this, but this is old school. I like the locusts and birds in the background. It makes it feel like it’s a hot summer day out in the fields working when you listen to it. The pictures in the video also vividly illustrate the kind of slave labor that was so prevalent in the slave years of this country. It’s a solemn song, one with the hard working sounds of slave workers and horrible things that the slaves went through. I think it’s really neat.
ReplyDeleteThe rythmn and lyrics to the song go really well with the pictures. they fit the description of what of the men doing the extremely hard labor under those summer conditions. Through my education I have learned that the summers in the south are blazzing hot.
