Bad Songs - You know em when you hear em!

I am going to list my worst songs of the 1990’s. My ears are already bleeding.  In no particular order they are as follows:

Ricky Martin: La Vida Loca

Limp Bizkit: Nookie

TLC: Waterfalls

Soundgarden: Black Hole Sun

Billy Ray Cyrus: Achy Breaky Heart

Vanilla Ice: Ice Ice Baby

MC Hammer: Too Legit To Quit

Aqua: Barbie Girl

Los Del Rio: Macarena

Shaquille O’Neal: Strait Playin

Do you agree or disagree with my list? What songs would you add to this list?

  1. I disagree with your post. Not all of the songs on this list are totally "awful". Some are one-hit wonders and we know that the artist never made it in the real world. I can think of some other songs that should be on the list, one comes to mind is "Grandma got ran over by a raindeer". I cringe when I hear this song during the holiday times. I'm sure someone would disagree and like listening to the song.

  2. This list is pretty bad. Many of these songs were outplayed on the radio. They became annoying. I don't think I ever heard the Shaq song, gonna search for it now!

  3. I think songs can be a connection to particular times in your life. They are a reflection of how society was at the time of their release. I usually relate a particular song to that period of my life from when I first heard them. The Macarena was popular when my kids were little - and whenever I hear this song I think of the summer when it first came out and what my life was like at that time. I agree it may not be the best song ever written - but the memories it invokes for me are precious.

  4. I will have to agree with this list in a whole. most of these songs have no meaning to them and just works put together, and also most of theses artiest only had one hit wounder, and the songs you listed were them. we still have these kind of songs now of day. it will always be something that will be around, stupid pointless songs.

  5. I agree and disagree. Every time period has its "thing". For the 90's it was those songs. I'm sure 10 years from now, some people will be like 'WOW i listened to that??'. I do that even with songs i have from last year. I think some of the classics that won't ever go away are Broadway music, and Michael Jackson. As artists, they need to also see that the audience is changing. I think Madonna is one of the best people to mention here because she changed according to the audience, yet keeping her style.

  6. I would have to agree that most of these songs are bad but at the time I did like almost all of them. Who hasn’t done the Macrena at some time? Either at a dance, wedding, people even did it at sporting events. But you forgot to add Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping.”
