Music Today

Today's music is way different from back in the day. In the past, music had a meaning and it seemed like everyone had that same feeling as the artist. Today, music is about things some people go through, but not a lot. For example, there is a song about a lady busting window's out her man car. I have never felt that way about a man. I know a person who has actually done that, but I don't feel like it should be an anthem song. Music today, also has a lot of cussing and violence. Kids shouldn't be listening to that much cussing and violence because then they would act it out on the streets.

  2. I totally agree with you Ashley. I work with kids and some of the music and movies they listen to are very vulgar. They think it is cool to talk with cursing.

  3. Ashley I totally agree with you. New music does not seem as meaningful and music from the past. I might be a little prejudice about it though because I grew up back in the 1970's. Most of the songs I grew up singing were meaningful and they had words in them that made it fun to sing along. There are some good young artists in the world today. Young artists just need to get away from violence and bad language and evolve back to music that is enjoyable to listen to and sing. In particular rap artists need to clean up the work they do. Everyone has their own opinion about music. Some younger people might disagree with me. I enjoyed your post. Mary Ann Reday.

  4. I agree, the music of today has changed a lot from the past music. Today's music has more technology for better qaulity and more. Also, today artist just say whatever they feel like saying which is a good thing and a bad thing when you look at it. For example, kids today should not be listening to rap because it is nothing but sex, drugs, and violence.

  5. Ashley you are so right about the music that is being played today. Our young musical artist's are creating music that contains a lot of foul language, violence and with no respect for women in their lyrics. unfortunately these artist lyrics depict what is truly going on in their culture. No this is not appropriate nor should it be acceptable. But we need to address the underlying issue here, before we start judging.

  6. I agree that music has some impact on kids today. Unfortunately, it isn't always positive. It gets to me really bad how these kids are aloud to listen to some music that I won't even listen to. For example, rap music I think is horrible. It has a strong message, but it is put out there the wrong way for these kids and even adults.
