Beatboxing to some people might not see this as music. It the fundamental language of beats. People start a beat in their heads and it ends up in the music. The OG of beatboxing were the !Kung with their click language. I take them as a big influence to the beatoxing currently. Beatboxers strategically, scientifically, and sporadically take different instruments in their heads and through the mouths. Sometimes they make interesting combinations with instruments until it becomes harmonious. A beatboxer predicts how the beat will turn out in the end. Most time the beats don't make sense, but it only takes one instance that a beat will mesh together. Beatboxing goes across many cultures not just America. A Belgium artist named Roxorloops has won recondition in the beatbox culture. There are American Beatboxers such as razell who has quite an influenza on beatboxing music. Here is a link of Roxorloops at the world beatboxing convention

Beatboxing is a talent. I think it is a form of music, anything with a beat to it, is music. It must take a lot of practice to be able to get a certain sound. Cool video!
ReplyDeleteBeatboxing is definitely music. It's its own genre and it is very difficult to master, and not all people can do it. I remember Blake Lewis on American Idol and he was great! It's cool to know the history of it!
