Gospel Music Today
When I was younger, I had to go to church. The only thing I really cared about was the music. The word was also good to hear, but the preacher always spoke to long and I would get sleepy. Today, my generation really don't go to church anymore and they really don't care about the music. However, gospel artist like; Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, and Tye Tribbett; just to name a few, are making music that the young and the old can really enjoy. Although they are praising the lord, people can dance to it and it's very catchy.

I agree with you that most families today are not following some of the older traditions of going to church, joining youth groups, singing in the choir. The opportunity to change the tone of the music but still deliver the message is a fantastic way to reach the younger generation. Really nice video!
ReplyDeleteThank God for Mary Mary , Kirk Franklin and the many other gospel groups. With the help of new technology the artist's today can create spiritual music that caters to all age groups. This new style music reaches individuals that have never been inside a church, or has even read the Bible.
ReplyDeleteI still go to church and the songs we sing aren't really considered gospel. They more vocal and ballad. We don't have specific people going up to sing. We stay at our seats and sing. And EVERYONE sings because it's one of many ways we praise God. Just goes to show how important music is!
ReplyDeleteI always used to go to church when i was younger, and the music was the only thing that kept me awake. Even thou I dont go to church anymore, I still wake up everymourning and put on the gospel station. I love Mary Mary and Kirk Franklin I can feel different emotions from their lyrics.
