  1. This is a great post Doyle. The music a person listens to and enjoys definitely shows in what era they grew up. I grew up in the 1970's. My favorite music includes groups like the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Lynard Skynard, just to name a few. The era I grew up in definitely influenced the type of music I like. Although I listen to music from newer generations, my heart truly lies with the performers I grew up listening to. The Art of music had a lot to do with who I am today. Thank you for the great post. 2. I agree Doyle that music is strongly affiliated and seriously connected to the generation.I was born in the sixties in the Motown era. During that time black artist's provided young folks with a sense of black pride. Marvin Gaye took an unpopular stand during his time and decided to expose the social ills of the black communities. The song What's going on ? became the number one song on the R&B charts. James Brown song " I'm black and I'm proud, was another song that became a national anthem for blacks.
