Music in the Future!

If I had to guess what music is going to sound like in the future, I would say it's going to sound like today's music, but just an upper beat tempo. Listening to the music today, I found out at a young age, that it's the same music from the past, but with a higher or lower tempo. I also think the music in the future is going to be more dance and not a lot of soul because that is what's out now. So, all in all, music don't change, only the artist does.

  1. I think I understand a little of what your saying. Music is always the same, just who is doing the music is the only real change in music. I agree to an extent because that is partially true and by partially I mean if you live just a decade or two it may seem that way since the rate of change for music is not entirely obvious (because of how slow it is) but it IS changing. The change could be something small like a new instrument or something incredibly large like a new style of music.

  2. I agree with you I think the music of the future will have more of an up beat tempo. I think music will change as peoples lives start to change due to technology always evolving.

  3. I think music will change, but not like we might think. It might be heavier paced, but there will still be plenty of slower music. And maybe some newer forms of music will come up, like rap has recently, and techno years ago. Rock and alternative music have been around for so long already. All those doo wop songs are just older versions of Metallica, even if you don’t want to believe it. We can look at past music from many centuries ago and see the gradual changes that were made. It can take a century or more for music to progress into a new stage. As for what it will be like, no one can say they have a clue, just possibly some ideas.

  4. Chameleons and Ashley, I agree that the basic sound of music and the way it is written do not change from generation to generation. I think music actually goes in cycles. Each generation has their own particular type of music and we the listeners form memories from listening to it. For example the fifties had hip/hop, the sixties flower child music, the seventies, classic rock and roll, just to name a few. Each generation has music they enjoy and we are all left with memories we obtain from listening to that music. Music is a huge part of life in the past, present and future. This was a good post. 5. i think music in the future will be the complete opposite of what we thought. For example, our parent prob never thought or dreamed of the kind of music we listen to.

I think there will be alot more artist, espically with the rise of autotune, anyone could create a song and be famous.

  6. Music in the future is going to be the same as it is today. most parents dont like that new age of music due to the fact that some of it dose not make sense or has to many curse words in it. i can see more songs about nothing like lil wayne songs about firemen. but i hope some artists go back to the roots of music and bring back the real feel of what it once was.

  7. Music of the future will be a little different now than it will be in ten years. Many songs can be produced pretty quickly, computers have a huge role when making a song. I think most music may be more digital and up beat. Artists styles are always changing. I am anxious to hear what we will be listening to in the future.

  8. It’s funny thinking about music in the future because when I was a kid I always thought… how many songs can people make without saying the same thing? There are millions of songs today… I guess we will never run out. It seems like today dance music is more popular than ever because music changes with the younger generation. It thrives off of the young and in today’s world, it is all about marketing and the youth has the most percentage of sales. It is the artist that changes, I agree. It makes sense since music is an art, hence the word, artist.

  9. Being the big music fan that I am, I am always looking foward to new songs to listen to. I can listen to pretty much anything and enjoy it. Music has always sounded the same to me growing up but I notice how different 80's music sounds. Hiopefully the future brings great tunes to all of us.

  10. I do believe that music has changed as the time goes by. When we look back, different time period of time has its typical characters.
