Just as old styles and designs are become things of the present so will music of the past become music of the present. Take for example how long time historical antiques have become very important to this generation, so will the music of the past become connected to this generation. Another example is how clothes and shoes of the pasts are now the leading fashions of the present generation.
I agree with your post Doyle. Music never dies. I still remember the words to songs my parents and grandparents listened to and still enjoy singing or humming them from time to time. Likewise, my children are familiar with music from my generation and enjoy listening to it.
ReplyDeleteEvery generation has music they grow up with and enjoy but the music of past generations still lives on. This was a great post. Mary Ann Reday.
Doyle,I agree that music from another time sometimes makes its way to the present. I am always stunned when I hear a song that I grew up listening to being performed by another group. The song has some of the original sound, but has been altered to fit the sound of the new group. The Monkee's song, "I'm a Believer" was remade by Smash Mouth for the first Shrek movie. Now two generations have their own version of the same song.
ReplyDeleteI think this is reflected within Lady Gaga's new single. Madonna's Vogue and Express Yourself can be easily recognized as heavily influencing Born This Way.
ReplyDeleteI am totally agree with you about music and fashions are never behind the times. Like classic music from past are still using in some of the movies and generations are enjoy them
ReplyDeleteI agree with your thoughts on musical evolution. The music of yesterday will change the music of tomorrow. I never quite looked at music with this idea in mind, but now that you have brought it to my attention, this makes perfect sense.
